About the Author

Trevor Elliott has first-hand knowledge of viticulture and winemaking in many of the wine-growing regions of the world. However, the wines of Madeira are a particular passion and for nearly twenty years Trevor has made a detailed study and acquired an extensive knowledge about the wines and the island.

Trevor enjoys wines, and is most enthusiastic to share this enjoyment with others. He firmly believes that the pleasures of wines are enhanced by learning about them in a relaxed, informal atmosphere. He brings to his tastings and courses many years teaching experience in the field of education, and first-hand knowledge of wines, gained from travelling widely. His travels have included winegrowing areas in Australia, California, Chile, France, Germany, Northern & Central Italy, Portugal (including Madeira), Northern Spain and South Africa.

Trevor believes that it is crucial to keep up to date with the changes and trends taking place in the wine industry. He achieves this by reading, attending seminars and trade tastings, and, during his vineyard visits, by meeting with the growers and winemakers. It is very important to Trevor, to maintain these personal contacts.

If you wish to organise a wine tasting event, Trevor will be pleased to hear from you, so don’t hesitate to contact him.
